Peter Shines At Boxing Hall Of Fame

Garden City Games’ female gold medalist, Kate Peter, last Saturday continued her dominance in the 69kg category as she defeated hard-fighting Oluchi Ochoima of Prestige Boxing Club at the 31st Monthly Saturday Boxing Show, Hall Of Fame, held at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Lagos.

The bout, which was a three-round affair, held spectators spellbound, as Ochoima tried all the tricks in the sport to prove bookmakers wrong by causing an upset in the fight.

In a chat with P.M.Sports after the exhilarating bout, Peter praised Ochoima for her spectacular performance, adding that the hard-fighting boxer gave her a run for her money.

“Ochoima is a very good fighter and she has been able to prove that in her spectacular performance against me. I appreciate her courage so much and the way she tried her best to win the bout,” said Peter who represented Golden Weapon Boxing Club.

In other bouts of the event, another female boxer, Mistura Oladele, created an upset in the 52kg category by defeating Udor Margaret, who denied her a gold medal at the just-concluded Ibile Games 2012. Gabriel Francis of Champion Boxing Club outpunched Segun Ibrahim of Warrior Boxing Club in the 91kg category.

Two kid boxers, Wahab Kukoyi of The Grace Nursery and Primary School and Gafari Adeleke of Michael Nursery and Primary School had a draw in an exhibition bout in the 35kg category.
