Table Tennis: Quadri Rated High In Portugal


Nigeria’s 2012 Olympic-bound ping ponger, Aruna Quadri, has been adjudged the best player of Portuguese Table Tennis League last season.

In the ranking released recently by the Portuguese Table Tennis Federation, Quadri, who is playing for GDSR Os Toledo in the last two season, garnered 225 points to win the best players award ahead of Mirandela’s Joao Geraldo, who amassed 224 points.

Beside Quadri, the only African and Nigeria in the top 15 is Nigeria’s Bode Abiodun, who plays for C.S. JUNCAL. Abiodun, who opened the doors for most African players in Portugal, has 114 points to be ranked 12th in the league.

Abiodun, a former player with Sporting Club, was instrumental to the acceptance of Nigerian players in the league.
