The final match, held at Awori College playground, Ojo, was between Estate Gunners and FC Scomi.

The 90 minutes tension-soaked match ended in 1-1 draw, leading to a penalty shootout. FC Scomi were however crowned winners of the game after they converted four of their shots, while Estate Gunners scored just 2.

Prominent dignitaries like Chairman of the Council Area, Prince Yinka Durosinmi, Col. Ojelade Collins, Chairman of the event, Sule Tolani, Education Secratary, Ojo LG, among others graced the event.

Twenty four football clubs participated at the annual competition that debuted in 2009.

Delivering a speech at the closing ceremony, the Chairman said the competition is necessitated by the need to popularise and standardise various sports through the development of modern sporting infrastructure within and outside Lagos State.

“It is interesting to note that our council has embarked on the global change trend in sports and the youths have been kept busy by transcending the sporting activities beyond the province of leisure” he said.

He also commended the effort of the sport committee of OJo Local government for the performance of their athletes at the just concluded Ibile Games.

The chairman, however, admonished the youths to develop the spirit of sportsmanship, and also called on corporate bodies to contribute their quota to sports activities in the Local Government.
