Arrangement have been concluded to organise the MKO Abiola Memorial Cup in memory of the acclaimed winner of 1993 general election, the late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, who died on 12 June, 1993.
The one day event which will hold on 12 June this year at the Teslim Balogun Stadium will see former players of the defunct Abiola Babes taking on All Stars Club of Lagos, who will parade Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, his Chief of Staff and Henry Nwosu as players.
Match Coordinator, Tajudeen Disu told GSG the match will kick off by 3p.m after which there will be a party at the Eaglesí Club in Surulere, Lagos. Some of the Abiola Babes former players that will feature in the game are Tajudeen Disu, Yisa Sholuwe, Raymond King, Friday Ekpo, Dahiru Sadi, Bright Omokaro, Friday Christopher, Toyin Ayinla, Bremner Alada, Biodun Odejimi, Tarila Okoronwata, Nicholas Ukadike, Wasiu Ipaye, Monday Odiaka, Segun Agbayewa, Yemi Adebanjo and Rafiu Adegbenro.
