Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has urged the electorate in Nigeria’s Edo state to be vigilant in protecting their votes in the 16 July governorship election in the state.

Speaking at a rally in Benin City, Edo State, celebrating the defection of Prof. Julius Ihonvbere from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ACN, Tinubu said the election called for utmost vigilance among the Edo people, to ensure that their electoral choice prevailed.

“Adams Oshiomhole, our comrade-governor, is the Moses of our time,” he declared to thundering applause.

“I have no doubt, given his superlative achievements, that you will all vote for him. But you must defend your votes, so that your electoral choice is not altered.”

With Tinubu were Ekiti Governor, Kayode Fayemi and his Ogun counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun. There were also ACN national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and host governor and candidate in the July 16 election, Adams Oshiomhole, as well as Ihonvbere. All wielded the the broom, the party’s symbol, as Tinubu made his speech and broke into a song:
