Army consoles family of Yusuf Ali, Dana crash victim

The Nigerian Army has condoled with the family of Lt. Col. Ali Yusuf who died in the ill-fated DANA plane crash on June 3. 

The Chief of Army Staff,  Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika represented by Maj. General Oluwaseun Osinowo, joined family and friends of Yusuf at the seventh day Muslim prayer at the weekend at the Shittu Alao Barracks Keffi, Nasarawa.

Maj.-Gen Oluwaseun Oshinowo is the General Officer Commanding  (GOC) 82 Division Enugu.

The statement said that the Chief Imam of Guards Brigade Garrison Mosque, Captain Kabiru Sa’ad, in a sermon, reminded the faithful that Allah had already decreed that every life on earth must come to an end at some point in time.Sa’ad, assisted by the Imam of the Central Mosque, Shittu Alao Barracks urged the faithful to strive to live a good life always. The statement said that the Imam also called on them to pray for forgiveness for the deceased officer and the rest of the air crash victims.

Consoling the wife of the deceased, Mrs Hawa Yusuf, the GOC promised to come to her aid if she needed any assistance.

Osinowo was accompanied to the ceremony by Brig-Gen. Sadiq Yusuf, Commander 13 Brigade, Brig-Gen. Tanko Burutai, Commader, 2 Brigade.Yusuf, until his death was the Commanding Officer of 93 Battalion Takum, Taraba and was one time Aide de Camp (ADC) to former Minister of Defence, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso. Yusufleft behind a wife and four children including a two-week old baby.
