‘ACN Will Rule Nigeria’

Come 2015, by the special grace of God, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, will take over the mantle of leadership of this nation because the party has what it takes to rule this country successfully.

The chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Shakiru Adisa, said this during the graduation ceremony of LCDA’s vocational students and distribution of poverty alleviation items to youths and women in the area.

The poverty alleviation materials include sewing machines, hair dryers, generators, grinding machines, clippers as well as school uniforms, bags, sandals and mathematical sets to orphans in all the public primary schools within the LCDA.

Speaking at the occasion, the LCDA Council Manager, Mr A.K.J Shadare, said the event was the climax of the council boss’ 200 days in office and urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the opportunity given to them.

“This items will go along way in alleviating the suffering of our youths and women. The youths are the leaders of tomorrow and without them a nation would not exist.

“Those who do not benefit today should just take it in good faith as this is just the beginning of this administration,” he said.

According to the Ayobo Ipaja council boss,”among our programme as we promised is youth/women empowerment and poverty alleviation. Our administration passionately believes in teaching our people how to fish rather than giving them fish, hence our decision to find experts in various fields to train our women and youths on different trades like make-ups, artistry, soap making, insecticides and germicide making.

“The distribution of all this items are not only meant to alleviate poverty but also to show that enjoying the dividends of democracy is not limited to the provision of social amenities, hence beneficiaries should make efficient use of the materials to encourage future opportunities.

“We have vigorously pursued programmes that would be beneficial to our youths and women. With determination on your side, we are optimistic that this Widows Mite will help to improve the living standards of the beneficiaries.

“To our pupils in schools, we are determined to provide an enabling environment for them to learn comfortably and assimilate what theirs teachers are teaching them. On this note, this administration’s concerns for the plight of orphans in our schools made it necessary for us to provide them with school uniforms, sandals, bags and exercise books, so as to relieve them of burdens.

“Therefore, the head teachers of all the primary schools were mandated to forward names of genuine indigent pupils in their respective schools to give them a sense of belonging,” he said.
