Lawyer Tasks Jonathan On Security

A lawyer, Bolanle Olugbani has tasked the Federal government to put in place security measures for the safety of lives and properties of the citizenry.

Olugbani made this plea in Lagos while reacting to the explosions which rocked Kaduna and Zaria on Sunday.

Olugbani condemned the activities of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, and appealed to them to lay down their arms and stop attacking Christians.

“I don’t understand why a group of people will be kicking against western education at this period. It shows that our government has a lot to do to change the wrong world outlook of these people. There is more to it than meets the eye,” he stated.

The Lagos-based lawyer explained further that the agitation by Boko Haram has political undertone and appealed to the politicians to save the country from disintegration.

Olugbani also called on President Goodluck Jonathan to increase the tempo of his campaign against corruption. “Again, I want to plead with the president to increase the tempo of his fight against corruption because this cankerworm has eaten deep into the fabric of the nation. Nigeria is blessed with a lot of mineral resources and human capital but corruption has continued to put us at the lowest rung of the ladder,” he stated.
