6 airlines to lift Nigeria's Hajj pilgrims

Nigeria’s Federal Government has approved six airlines to transport intending pilgrims to this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. 

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja and signed by Alhaji Uba Mana, the Public Relations Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The statement listed the airlines as Med-view, Max Air, Kabo Air, Ethiopian Airlines, Meridian Airlines and Tradecraft Nigeria Ltd. It also said that Hamsel Air Services Ltd and Aero Aviation Services Ltd would serve as back-up carriers for the operations. The statement said the Federal Government also approved Med-view Cargo Ltd, Evergreen and White Aero Ventures as pilgrims’ excess luggage carriers.The transportation of 95,000 intending pilgrims to the Holy Land is expected to begin during the last week of September, while the return journey is tentatively scheduled to start in the first week of November.
