The organisers of the MTN Lagos Street Soccer have concluded plan to organise a seminar/ workshop for the referees and match commissioners ahead of the next month football championship.
The seminar will commence with the referees on Thursday while match commissioners will have theirs on Friday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium,surulere,Lagos.
According to the head of referee of the LOC, Bashiru Kosoko, the seminar is meant to update the knowledge of the officials while it would serve as a platform for empowerment of youths who are willing to take to officiating.
“This seminar is part of the initiative for this season designed to update and keep officials up to speed with ever changing Futsal Laws of the game. For those who want to administer the competition this year, we want to bring in knowledgeable people that know the laws guiding the
game,” Kosoko said.
He added that as part of the empowerment objective of the MTN Lagos Street Soccer, students within age 15 to 22 are also encouraged to be
part of the seminar.
Kosoko further said that the officials would also be assessed with the
successful ones expected to handle proceedings this season.
Meanwhile, the deadline for teams’ registration has been fixed for 29 June, while all teams are also expected to return their forms to the secretariat of the LOC.
