New Avanza Rattles Rivals

Isn’t it a surprise that the Avanza takes a big leap? Big on space, big on style, big on fun, and is really turning heads with a new design that makes it truly sleek with a sportier appearance and improved convenience features.

The new Toyota Avanza is set to entice new buyers looking for an affordable compact multi-purpose vehicle with a reputation for reliability.

With a brand new model makeover, the new Avanza comes with added features for the discerning customer. It still runs a body and frame type construction, the styling has not changed much; but a new front end and rear end makes the new Avanza more current than before.

A nice change is the new interior that is more refreshing and having a blacked out interior for ease of cleaning and maintenance. The new Avanza is 20 mm longer and 30 mm wider than before, while front and rear tracks are up by 20 mm. The platform has been carried over, and the RWD layout remains. Toyota says that RWD gives better maneuverability via a better turning circle, which is best in class at 4.7m  which is possibly class leading.

In his speech during the launch, Mr Andrew Ajuyah, Marketing Manager TNL said: “The Avanza, since its launch in 2007, has been a testament to Toyota’s continuous commitment to giving every customer the best products with utmost value for money. “One beauty of the Avanza is, its price has remained almost basically the same as that of its predecessor so as to make it affordable and competitive in the market.”

The Avanza is a 7-seater MPV, and the biggest change in its configuration from its previous model is the ability for its last row to be folded up individually as in a 50/50 split. Even the second row seats can now be folded up as in a 50/50 split as well. The previous model did not have this configuration and it became a hassle when one had to ferry long goods. The new Avanza seat configuration is more versatile, and offers a better positioning especially in the last row. Price wise, the Avanza 1.3L is priced at N3.1m for manual transmission while automatic transmission is N3.4m, the 1.5L at N3.7m.
