Four members of Operation Burst” die in motor accident.

A female soldier and three other personnel of the Oyo State Security Outfit codenamed “Operation Burst” on Thursday died in a ghastly motor accident at Samonda Area of Ibadan, the state capital.There were five survivors.

A police source identified three of the dead officers as police inspector, Adebola Apata, a female Lance Corporal B. Bola, a private identified as Oneh.

The survivors are: CPI Bello Kayode, CPI George Adeyemo (policemen); and Sgt Abdullahi Mannir (soldier). Also, the driver of the private commercial vehicle and cyclist.

PM News gathered that the accident was caused by the Operation Burst Patrol van which lost control and veered off the road hitting an electric pole and an on-coming commercial vehicle and a motorcycle.

One of the victims is said to be in critical condition.

Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Bisi Ilobanafor confirmed the accident to PM NEWS in a telephone chat.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi has paid a visit to University College Hospital (UCH) where the victims were taken for medical attention.

The governor, in the company of the hospital CMD, Professor Temitope Alonge assured that government would foot the victims’ medical bills.
