Arsenal Friendly Good For Eagles –Keshi
By Bimbo Ajayi
Super Eagles’ coach, Stephen Keshi, has applauded the pre-season friendly match between Nigeria and the English Premier League side, Arsenal, slated for 5 August at the National Stadium, Abuja.
The Nigerian side, which is ranked 60th in the latest FIFA rankings will trade tackles with the London clubside that finished third in the English top flight last season in a lucrative friendly match.
Keshi, speaking early today, said the much-publicised match will give the Nigerian side the opportunity to learn and correct their past lapses.
“The friendly will be a good one for Nigeria because there is one or two things that we will learn by playing a clubside like Arsenal. There is always a room for learning irrespective of the team we play whether it is Arsenal or Orlando Pirates,” said Keshi.
David Omigie of DanJan Sports, promoter of the match, revealed that agreement has been finalised with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to provide a strong Super Eagles side.
