'How Mageeco Won Chairman’s Cup'

General Manager of Mageeco Football Club of Agege, Olalekan Ogunjobi has revealed how Mageeco FC won Orile Agege Chairman’s Cup.

Mageeco FC defeated De Boyz Football Club 14-13 after one goal apiece at the regulation time in an fierce battle which was played last Sunday at the Pako Amoo playground,  Agege, Lagos.

Ogunjobi, who was impressed with his team performance, attributed his team’s victory as a result of team work, determination, fans’ support and prayers.

“I don’t know how to describe our victory. All I can say is that my team prepared very well and the players gave their best throughout the tournament. Our victory today (Sunday) showed that there is future for the club,” he said.

Chairman, Organising Committee, Dele Gbajumo expressed satisfaction with the standard of play of both teams, but noted that the better side won the game. He said the officiating and comportment of the fans during and after the game was quite impressive.

“It was an epic final. I saw the tension in the faces of the fans of both teams from the beginning to the end of the match,” he said.

Maggeco went home with the sum of N75,000  with a giant trophy, while first and second runners up, De boyz  and Solid Rock received N50,000  and N25,000 respectively.
