Fashola, ACN Govs Endorse Akeredolu For Ondo Race

Governors elected under the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN on Wednesday endorsed the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for nomination by the party for the forthcoming Ondo State Governorship elections.

Asked about the position of the ACN governors on the issue by newsmen on his way out, in company of  his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr Kayode Fayemi, after attending the presentation of the political memoirs of the Minority Leader of the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, at the City Hall Lagos, Governor Fashola said the position of the Governors is that what is most important for the people of Ondo is to get the benefit of a Governor that will solve problems.”

Therefore, the position of the ACN Governors is that we endorse Mr Akeredolu for nomination by our party,” he said.

Also speaking on the issue, the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi said the Action Congress of Nigeria will always go for a candidate of integrity, of passion for the people, of commitment to the ideals of social democracy and of competence.

“And I think the person you are talking about would fit into that bill in all ramifications. So, as far as we are concerned, the process is on, the nomination is endorsed by us and we await the completion of the primaries in the state,” Governor Fayemi added.
