Egypt’s Morsi set to take oath of office
Egypt’s president-elect Mohamed Morsi arrived at the Constitutional Court on Saturday to take his oath of office.
State television broadcast live footage of the Islamist leader’s motorcade driving up to the court almost half an hour late.
It aired no footage from inside the court, where Morsi was to take his oath in front of a panel of judges.
Morsi had wanted the ceremony to take place in parliament, in keeping with the country’s interim constitution, but the ruling military dissolved the Islamist-dominated house earlier this month after a court order.
