Lagos Volleyball Coach Boasts Ahead Of Sports Festival

Head Coach of Lagos State Volleyball Association, Taiwo Oladipupo, has expressed confidence in his teams, boasting that no state can stop the state from winning gold medals in the volleyball event of the forthcoming National Sports Festival.

Oladipupo told P.M.Sports that as the host state, Lagos cannot afford to lose the gold medals in both male and female volleyball events at the fiesta, believing that anything short of this target will be a disappointment.

“The message is clear; it is gold medals or nothing in the National Sports Festival. We are not going to use mercenaries to achieve our target like what some other states did in the previous Sports Festivals. Rather, we are going to use the talents we discovered in our developmental programme to represent the state in the national competition by the grace of God,” he said.

Oladipupo, who is also the Technical Director of Lagos State Volleyball Association, stated that the state has discovered some players who are ready to give their best during the festival.

He, however, called on the Lagos State Sports Ministry to camp the teams early so that they can have very good outing at the festival. He also advised that welfare of the teams and officials be taken seriously before and during the Sports Festival.

Chairman of Lagos Volleyball Association, Chief Owolabi Martins is optimistic that Lagos will not only do well in Volleyball, but will also shine in other sports at the Sports Festival.
