Following the recommendation of the final report of the committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senate has approved the removal of Mohammed Gwaska as a member representing Nasarawa State from the Federal Character Commissions.

Senate President David Mark who made the declaration during Tuesday’s plenary said the removal of Gwaska would serve as a lesson for those who crave for appointment but end up not discharging their duties accordingly.

Senator Mark further called on President Goodluck Jonathan not to spare the rod on inefficient officials in the nation’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Reasons given for Gwaska’s removal by the Senator Dahiru Kuta led Committee on Federal Character range from confiscation of official documents, refusal to return official vehicles in his care as well as absenteeism from office.
