Ras Kimono Lights Up Legend Nite

Despite the torrential rains in Lagos last Friday, hundreds of fun seekers trooped out to celebrate the monthly Legend Nite at the Niteshift Coliseum with Reggae music exponent, Ras Kimono, as the lead act for the night.

The venue was indeed charged as the music legend showed he still has the thrilling magic for his teeming fans when he took the animated audience back in time with the energetic performance of hit tracks like Under Pressure and Rumba Stylee among others. He was supported by the iconic Coliseum’s Shifters Band and slew of comedians who enlivened the windy night.

The ‘Real Deal’ Nite, is an in-bar brand activation, organized by Nigerian Breweries plc to reward loyal consumers of the Legend brand monthly. And many consumers went home with gift items ranging from refrigerators, DVD players, generating sets, standing fans and other gift items.

Moses Otokobor, an executive with Paragonix media, was one of the lucky winners. He carted away a refrigerator. A highly elated Otokobor said he has never missed any of the editions of Legend Nite since its inception.

“I have been attending every edition of ‘Real Deal Nite’ since it started last year. I always have so much fun and that is what keeps bringing me back. I always make it a point of call every month to attend the event”

Funsho Ayeni, Brand Manager, Legend Extra stout, said the nite which started in March 2011, and holds every last Friday, would continue on a monthly basis and would also be spreading its tentacles to Benin, Port-Harcourt and Abuja in the coming months.
