In order to boost football development in Lagos, Used Kits Foundation has concluded plans to kit Five football Academies with new set of jerseys.
The Foundation is sponsored by Queen Park Rangers of England and it will officially launch the programme today at the Agege Stadium.
Among the five affiliated Academies that will benefit from the foundation are Future Star Academy, Future Pro Academy, FC SAB Football Academy, Eunice International Academy and current champions of U-13 Eko football tournament, Grace Academy.
Speaking with in Lagos, chairman of Used Kits Foundation, Olusola Orelaja said the idea to donate the sports wears to the academies is borned out of passion he has for the round leather game. A former player of defunct Stationery Stores said the foundation will encourage the youth to realize their brighter future.
“I wish to state that in the course to provide for these youths, we had to approach the London based premiership side, Queens Park Rangers to enable the proposal to them which they examined and bought into it completely. So, it’s my pleasure to present QPR as the main sponsor of the foundation,” he said.
Orelaja said they are planning to extend their king gesture to other part of Nigeria and West Africa sub-region.
“We have started with academies in Nigeria and in the near future, we will spread our tentacles to other West Africa states such as Ghana, Sierra Leone and Senegal. I believe that our project will be beneficiaries to the Academies in Lagos,” he said.
