D’Tigers’ll Shine At Olympics —Adeka

Head Coach of Dodan Warriors Basketball Club, Daudu Adeka, has hailed the performance of D’Tigers for qualifying for the Basketball event of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Adeka, who spoke to P.M.Sports at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, at the end of the Dodan Warriors Prospect Camp, said that D’Tigers are already a big name and should be given a chance at the Summer Games.

In his words: “I must commend the team for a job well done. I think they have a chance, we should trust the team to make us proud. The team are already a big name and despite the tough group that they found ourselves, I expect the players to do well in London.”

Adeka also spoke about the camp which was just concluded, saying that the programme was a great success, especially with the presence of the expatriates.

“The essence of the camping was to discover new talents for the country and also to teach them one or two things about basketball. We taught them that they need to go to school even with their involvement in sports,” he said.

“The clinic was very successful with over 80 children participating. We had the expatriates from the US; our own Alex Nwora and the white man, Josh. Their presence alone helped to boost the morale of the prospective players because most of our players want to study in the US, so it was an opportunity to relate with people who have been there.

“We also had virtually every basketball coach in Nigeria around. The likes of Ema Akolo, Scot, Lateef among others were here to help out as well,” Adeka said.
