Is It Still Household Of God?

Many of the new generation churches have brought some untoward or unfavourable cheering circumventive and lopesided doctrines to Christendom again. They prefer to pursue their devilish interest blindly to the detriment of biblical injunctions which are paths of faith and righteousness. They have greatly derailed from the simple tenets of Christianity which Jesus Christ himself teaches, but which they now turn upside down to suit their egotism.

The sin of adultery is one of the sins abhorred mostly by God, and it is this same sin that has turned many Christian brothers and sisters into whoredom-ship, and which they now continue to revel in relentlessly. Because of money, they indulge themselves in exotic amorous sexual orgies with their daughters, wives, both legal and secret ones for money rituals and quick riches. But the funniest aspect of this barefaced debauchery is that mostly, the Christian leaders and professed authorities in Bible knowledge are the guilty ones.

As the Bible confirms, they like to teach the congregations the right things but do the opposite of whatever they teach. The love of money which leads them to corruption is the god they worship. In some churches, skulls of human beings are found in their sacred rooms. The foundation of some of their churches are constructed with charms, while in others cows and human beings are buried alive at the center of these churches, as spiritual means of attracting many worshippers to them. Many of the churches have been turned to miracle centers, where miracle seekers flock to always for help on either to get rich quickly, win contracts, running to millions of naira, double promotions at work places, abundant blessings from whatever types of trades or businesses, or to get freedom from the bondage of strange ailments. Most of these churches are acclaimed solution givers to all human problems.

However, let us limit ourselves to divorce problems, which is now the vogue among some of the church overseers and brothers in Christendom, worldwide. We may even limit our searchlight to the household of whore-mongers, and adulterers as epitomized by the Household of God. Some of these Christian leaders have consigned themselves to the dictates of the flesh than that of Holy Spirit.

When it comes to marital issues, they faulter. We ponder deeply what they really teach the congregations about marriage and divorce. Heb. 13 v 4 confirms that marriage is honourable, and the bed undefiled, but whore-mongers and adulterers God will judge. Whereas in II Cor. 7 v 10-16, couples are counselled not to separate. It is a command that husbands should not allow their wives to depart from them. But if they depart, let them remain unmarried, or be reconciled, and to the husbands, they should not put away their wives.

In Mk 10 v2-12, Matt. 19 v 9, Jesus says whosoever puts away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, has committed adultery, and whosoever marry her that is put away also commits adultery. Even when the Pharisees came to him to ask whether it is lawful for a man to put away his wife, since a bill of divorcement was approved by Moses, as contained in Deut. 24 v 1-4, Jesus answered them that it was because of their stiff-neck and hardness of their hearts that Moses wrote for them the precept. He then asserted that from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two become one flesh. That is a “great secret” of marriage, Eph.5 v 32. What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder.

Here God specifically is commanding man (not woman) not to cause separation or divorcement which the whore-mongers and adulterers in Christendom have taken as their own standard of socialization.

Matt. 9 v 10-12: And when his disciples conclude that if the case of man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry, to this he informs them that not all men can receive this saying, save they to whom is given. With this conclusion, Jesus shows the intricacy involved in marriage and divorce. You don’t just rush to marriage project for the sake of it without planning to succeed. That the only men who are free from all the problems associated with marriage and divorce are those who are eunuchs by birth, or design, or those who make themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.

However, the Bible also provides ways to tread if we were to make our marriage work and sustain it “till death do us part”. The quoted statement is part of the so-called marriage covenant in which Christians revel passionately. Whereas, and according to Matt. 5 v 34-37, Jesus says that swear not at all, neither by heaven for it is  God’s throne——. But let your communication be yea, yea, Nay, nay; for whatever is more than these cometh of evil, period. The same thing is manifest in James 5 v 12. You now see why some marriages fail to work, because they are built on deliberate violation of God’s injunction that Christians should not swear at all.

We have to go to this extent, because most of our Christian leaders and brothers lack knowledge of the basics on the issue of marriage and divorce, and that is why a lot of problems and confusion always rear their ugly heads in marriages.

Solutions to marriage and divorce: the Holy Bible has also provided adequate respite to all the problems of whore-mongership in marriage, adultery and divorce as stated here under:

•Eph. 5 v 22-25, wives, submit yourselves unto your husbands, as much unto the Lord;

•The husband is the head; as Christ is the head of the church, therefore, as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing;

•Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loves the church and give himself for it;

•Submit yourselves one to another in the fear of God;

•Righteousness, godly living and uprightness are needed to sustain enduring and successful marriage; •I Cor. 7 v 10-16, couples are counselled not to separate, it is a command that husband should not let his wife depart from him; even when a wife departs from her husband, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband; in all let not husband put away his wife;

•And in addition, we give kudos to wives who make their marriages to succeed through tortuous perseverance, persistence, endurance and humiliation, insults, assaults and battering from naughty, proud and deceptive husbands.

However, we are of the view that many Christian overseers, or shepherd and brothers fail to study Bible deeply. They only read the holy book without proper reflection, or thought on what they read. The tendency is for them to continue misleading the churches under them because of their little faith.
