3 Cops, INEC Staff Die In Boat Mishap

Three policemen and an ad-hoc staff of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been confirmed dead in a boat mishap while on election duty.

Their boat capsized on the Ethiope River, close to Ologbo town in Ikpoba Okha local government area of the state.

As at the time of filing this report, the destination of the ill-fated boat could not be confirmed.

When contacted, Edo police image maker, Anthony Airhuoyo confirmed the incident.

He, however, said details were sketchy. All effort to reach Edo INEC Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Priscilla Sule-Imodu proved unsuccessful as calls made to her cell phone went unanswered.
