Key players in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, are currently warming up for this year’s Global Leadership Awards for Excellence, which will hold at Time Square Events Centre, Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday, next week.
Organised by the publishers of Global News magazine, the award is aimed at celebrating those who have been outstanding in their respective chosen careers over the years. The categories of the award cut across virtually all professions, including the entertainment sector.
Some of the movie stars who will be honoured for their contribution to the make-believe industry under the year in review include sultry actress, Chika Ike- Best Actress (English), Mercy Aigbe-Jentry- Best Actress (Yoruba), Yomi Fash-Lanso- Best Actor, while Funke Akindele and Hakeem Rahman will be given the female and male crossover actor awards respectively.
Other entertainers that will be rewarded for their creativity include May D- Next Rated Music star, Flip Tyce- Best Music Producer and Esther Igbekele as Gospel Musician of the year among others.
While DJ Silver will be on the wheel-of-steel, stars like Kaha, AZ-Flow, Artquake and Raymond Fix will entertain guests at the event organised by Segun Ogunbunmi.
