Ojo Will Add Value To Florida State Team —Hamilton
Coach of the Florida State Basketball team, Leonard Hamilton has described his new recruit, Nigerian Michael Ojo as a player who will add some value to his team.
According to FSU News, the Seminoles lost six seniors last year and to replace them are five freshmen and one junior college transfer. With all the new faces, head coach, Hamilton broke down the new players as well as previewed the upcoming season.
While commenting on Ojo, who played for Tennessee Temple, Ojo said: “Michael is probably the least experienced guy we have because he has played the least number of basketball and probably has the furthest to go from an experience standpoint.
“In his country, Nigeria, they don’t play a whole lot of basketball. But he has the physical stature that we feel he brings something different as a player to the team.”
Hamilton however said that the team need to blend the experience of the older players with the new recruits for Florida State to excel in the new season.
“We feel we’ve brought in some guys. You can start trying to predict how good you think you can be, and then it becomes a moving target. But we are going to need our experienced guy to set the table, set the tone for our work ethic, our practice, and the direction we are moving the program.
“And we’re probably going to need our younger players to be ready than some of the teams in the past. Sometimes we’ve been able to bring them along slower, but I’m not really sure the way we try to develop our team that we are going to have the luxury this year to bring them along too slow.”
