Heartland Expel Udoh
Heartland centre-back, Kingsley Udoh, has been axed from his side, Tokyu Ground Hotel camp, Elekohia in Port Harcourt.
Udoh was sent packing on Wednesday before the Cup holders’ Match day Two game against Nasarawa United at the ongoing Federation Cup competition.
SuperSport.com learnt that Udoh refused to train with his teammates on flimsy excuses and was later seen idly roaming the street.
A Heartland camp source informed SuperSport.com that the former Nigerian junior international is in the habit of dodging training session.
“Kingsley Udoh was expelled from camp early today (Wednesday) for refusing to train with his colleagues on reasons the coaching crew considered elementary.
“The coaches didn’t find his behaviour funny as he had similarly refused to train with his teammates before their league game against Niger Tornadoes.
“They’ve decided to clamp down on him to serve as deterrent to any player who may want to follow his foot path.
“He may still face further punishment when the team return to Owerri after their Cup campaign in Port Harcourt,” the source said.
Heartland still rule Group D on four points after two games.
The Naze Millionaires edged Plateau United 1-0 but were forced to a 1-1 draw by Nasarawa United and would take on Gombe United on Friday to wrap up the centre’s matches.
A draw will be enough to see Heartland through to the quarterfinals of the annual football competition.
