Isekolowo Cup Hots Up In Ifako-Ijaiye

The maiden edition of Isekolowo Soccer Championship reached its second weekend last Sunday with different matches played at the playground of African Church Primary School, Ifako Ijaiye.

The grassroots soccer championship is organised for streets within Idiagbon community in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State.

In the matches played last Sunday, Quadri Street beat Faleke 2-1, Ajakaye lost 0-1 to Oyekan, Durosmi and Osunkaye played goalless draw, while Isale Aro and Adeeko drew 1-1.

Chief Coordinator, Lanre Arogundade was glad with the enthusiasm showed by the residents of Idiagbon community by trooping out to watch the matches and assured the teams of fair play throughout the competition.

Grassroots Soccer Guide reports that the competition is being organised to promote unity among the residents of the community and more importantly engage the youths of the area productively.

The final of the tournament sponsored by Councilor Ward B in Ifako Ijaiye LG, Ajibola Fadayo, assisted by the Sports Viewing Centre Association of Nigeria, Ifako-Iju chapter, KSS Stores and Taferbol Block Industry, will be played on Sunday, 5 August at the playground of Teachers Training College, Ifako Ijaiye.
