This exercise has been on since 2008 and it has really achieved far beyond the set objective of reducing the effect of global warming and beautification of the Lagos environment.
However, the commitment of nurturing the trees by each local government and individuals is always appreciated by the Ministry of Environment and Lagos State government.
This was why the Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA under the chairmanship of Prince Segun Adetola was honoured as one with the Best Nurtured Trees in the state while Mrs. Alice Shofolu, the Head of Agriculture and Social Development Department of the same Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA was recognised as the best desk officer in Tree Planting in the state.
