Mafe Lays N25m Foundation For PHC

The chairman of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, Alhaji Abdul-Rasheed Mafe, has laid the foundation for a multipurpose Public Health Centre at Zone A in the council area.

The foundation of the PHC was laid after the donation of a 500 KVA transformer to the same community recently.

Mafe who said his administration has so far distributed fourteen 500 KVA transformers to communities within the LCDA, added that his administration cannot afford to toil with the four cardinal projects of his administration which include health, security, education and environment.

“What we have witnessed here today is part of our responsibility as a local government, to assist communities who are in need of one thing or another. We know that the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, has failed in its responsibility, hence our decision to donate this transformer.

“So far, we have distributed fourteen 500 kva transformers to various communities within this LCDA. Again, health is wealth and my focus is that all the five wards in my LCDA must have a befitting PHC and by so doing, a whole lot of killer-diseases will be checked,” he said.

Speaking on whether his administration will complete the PHC, he said: “Anything we cannot complete, we don’t lay the foundation. If you check around, you will find out that I don’t have abandoned projects.

“In our first term in office, we started two new primary schools and we completed them. We also built a multipurpose health centre, the first of its kind in Africa. We started, completed, equipped and also commissioned it.

“We have four cardinal projects that this administration cannot afford to toil and these include, health, security, education and environment,” he stated.
