Nigeria’s Imo State University, Owerri, on Monday said it would release the names of students to be expelled from the institution for cult activities and examination malpractice.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bright Nwoke, told newsmen in Owerri that the decision followed the adoption of the report of the Senate Disciplinary Committee on cultism and examination malpractice in the institution.

The management of the institution had forwarded the names of 30 students for investigation by the committee.

The vice chancellor lamented the high incidence of cultism in the institution and vowed to deal decisively with the situation.

He pledged to pardon cult members who openly denounce the act.
