Eko 2012’ll Be A Grand Show In Nigeria -Adefulire

Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulire has said that the forthcoming National Sports Festival, tagged ‘Eko 2012’ will be a grand show to be remembered in the history of Nigerian sports.
Adefulire, who doubles as the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, LOC of the Festival, told journalists at the press conference on Sponsorship and Leveraging Opportunities for the sports fiesta, held Tuesday at the Protea Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.
She said arrangements have been concluded to sensitise the public about the festival from August, saying the state is ready to host a memorable event that will surpass the previous editions.
“We are working with the Lagos State Advertising Agency to begin a massive publicity for the festival. We’ll advertise the sports festival in billboards, electronic and the print media. “We want to commence series of activities that will run to the month of the festival in November,” she said.
The deputy governor said the state government will work hard to providing a conducive environment for the athletes, officials and visitors during their two weeks stay in Lagos for the sports festival.
“I am pleased to announce to sports loving Nigerians that work is still in progress at all the designated centres to be used for the festival,” said Adefulire, who called on the private sector to work with the government to make the festival a glamorous one.
The LOC on Tuesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with five marketing outfits that will partner with Lagos State Government throughout the festival.
