Gunmen Attack Nwosu, The Sun Editor

Editor of The Sun newspapers, Steve Nwosu, has been shot by unknown gunmen at the Maza-Maza area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

Mr. Nwosu was shot Wednesday in the head at close range while leaving a bank where he had gone to carry out a transaction.

The attackers, who stormed the bank on a motorcycle, popularly called okada, were said to have escaped immediately though it is not known if they took any of his property or money.

Sources close to him confirmed that he is currently in an undisclosed hospital where doctors are battling to save his life as he is said to be in a critical condition.
