Nigeria Premier League Update: ‘El-Kanemi’s Mission To NPL’

Newly promoted Nigeria Premier League, NPL side, El-Kanemi Warriors’ first choice goalkeeper, Itodo Akor, has said that their promotion to the topflight and they are ready to make a statement.

Akor, a penalty specialist disclosed that their mission is to remain in the topflight and that they are not in anyway scared of already established clubs in the NPL.

The former Voice of Nigeria, VON goalkeeper informed during his team’s quarter final clash against Kano Pillars in the Federations Cup at the Agege Stadium that they are not coming to the NPL to complete the numbers but to give a good account of themselves.

On his experience in the Federations Cup and their trip to Lagos he said “Coming to Lagos for the zonal preliminaries was an important experience for younger players like me. The football fans couldn’t have seen us play in the league, but had the chance to watch El-Kanemi, in Lagos.

“The Agege fans like good football and appreciated our performance. It was a nice experience that will boost my performance in the new season.

“We left Lagos with our heads high despite out exit. It was too close to call,”.

It was also gathered that the goalkeeper’s performance didn’t go unnoticed as he’s already on the shopping list of several Premier League clubs.

Akor started his career in the youth ranks of defunct Buffalo before VON noticed his abilities in post.
