Lagos Draw Ondo In Milo School Tourney
International School of Unilag, Lagos have been drawn in the same group with their Western Conference opponents, Greater Tomorrow College of Akoko, Ondo State in the boys’ finals of the 14th Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship.
The other team that made up the group are Government Secondary School, Ilorin.
In Group A, Ahmadiyya College, Kano, Government Secondary School, Minna and Saint Augustine, Ezzamgbo, Ebonyi State, will be at war for the two semi final tickets available in the group. The tourney is scheduled to hold from 7-11 August inside the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
For the Girls, Queens of the Rosary Secondary School, Benue State, Saint Jude’s Girls Secondary School, Bayelsa State and Yejide Girls Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State are drawn in Group A, while in Group B, Ajigbeda Girls Senior High School, Lagos, Asaba Girls Grammar School, Delta State, and Girls Government Secondary School, Taraba State will slug it out for the semi final tickets.
Speaking at the draw ceremony of the finals held at Protea Hotel in Maryland, Lagos, Managing Director of Nestle Nigeria, Martin Woolnough admonished the participating students to exhibit the spirit of sportmanship.
He also said Milo will continue to nurture the growth and development of sports in Nigeria. Category Business Manager of Milo, Mrs. Doja Ekeruche disclosed that the eventual winners of the championship will get a cash prize of N150,000 and a giant trophy.
The 1st runners up and the 2nd runners up will go home with a cash prize of N120,000 and N100,000 respectively.
