A High Court in Katsina on Tuesday dissolved the Katsina State Congress for Progressive Change Interim Committee constituted by the party’s national headquarters and reinstated Dr Yusha’u Armaya’u as the Chairman.

The party suspended its Katsina State Executives for alleged anti-party activities during the 2011 gubernatorial election and constituted an Interim Committee headed by Alhaji Faruk Aliyu.

Justice Abdullahi Yusuf, said suspending the executives without giving them the right to defend themselves against “any imaginary offence was a breach of their fundamental right to fair hearing.’’

Yusuf said that the decision was, therefore, “unconstitutional, null and void, and of no effect whatsoever.’’

He said that the Interim Committee constituted to oversee the affairs of the party was also null and void, ‘’as the CPC constitution does not make provisions for such body. ’’

“They should therefore stop parading themselves as members of the so-called interim committee,’’ he said.

Yusuf added that the meeting where the decision to set up the “so-called interim committee was taken was also unconstitutional, null and void, and of no effect whatsoever.’’

He directed the party’s National Secretariat to deal with Armaya’uand his members as the executives of the party in Katsina State. (NAN)
