LG Chairman Orders Sanitation Offenders Arrested

The Chairman Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Toba Oke ordered the arrest of three persons namely Olamide Adewale, Yemi Animasaun and Uzoma  Nwosu for not participating in the monthly Environmental sanitation exercise.

The accused were arrested at Bolodeoku Street, Dideolu Estate and later handed over to the appropriate authority for sanction when the Council Chairman paid an unscheduled visit to the area, to monitor the monthly sanitation exercise and to interact with the residents.

Oke who later addressed members of the Dideolu Community Development Association, said that sanitation exercise is a must for all and that the council plans to pass a bye-law that will empower the council to punish sanitation exercise defaulters.

He also promised the residents that the council will assist in clearing the drainage system that is threatening the entire estate.

The Chairman CDA, Prince Oyinloye thanked the Chairman and his team for the visit, saying ‘history is being made today, because this is the first time a serving chairman will visit our area after an election to see to our welfare, though they do come to us before election with promises which they don’t keep. We thank God for this day.”Oke was accompanied by his wife, Modupe Oke, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and strategy, Oluranti Odutola, Secretary to Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Dr. Yemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Council Manager, Alhaji Adeniyi Otuniyi, council engineer and others.
