Title Not Over For Rangers —Madu

Despite their 1-0 away loss to Shooting Stars in the Week 35 match played at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan last weekend, Skipper of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Chibuzor Madu, says the club can still win the Nigeria Premier League, NPL, title this season.

Madu believes that the Enugu-based side can still make up for the loss by winning their remaining matches of the season.

“I believe we will still win the league because we will work hard not to lose any of our remaining matches this season. Though the loss is so painful to us, I know the defeat will spur us to play better for the rest of the season.

“I don’t think there is any cause for alarm because we lost this match. We still have one home game to play and one other away match. Our next match will be a crucial one and we will do our best to win the match,” said Madu.

Madu, however, lamented the loss, saying that his side would have been more comfortable at the top of the log had they won the match.

“I’m sad that we were unable to secure the crucial victory or at least play a draw in the match. It would have put us in a comfortable spot on the table because every point is important in league at this time of the season,” Madu lamented.
