UNIBEN ranked first among Nigerian universities

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has emerged the leading university in Nigeria, courtesy of the July 2012 Webometrics ranking.

UNIBEN has emerged the leading Nigerian university for the second time.

The university was also ranked number 31 among universities in Africa.

A press release signed by UNIBEN’s Public Relations Officer, Harris Osaze Osarenren and made available to P.M. NEWS, noted that the July 2012 ranking equally saw the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi and the University of Ibadan occupying the second and third positions respectively among tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The university took the lead at the last Webometrics ranking which took place in January, 2012.
