265 Lagos Pilgrims For Lesser Hajj
At least 265 Lagos State Muslim pilgrims have travelled to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Lesser Hajj, known as Umrah.
An Umrah seminar was organised for the pilgrims before they departed the shores of the country to Saudi Arabia.
Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture, Oyinlomo Danmole, urged the pilgrims to be of good behaviour and be good ambassadors of the state.
He further disclosed that the number of this year’s pilgrims was more than the last two years, adding that the repositioning and re-engineering of the Lagos State Muslims Pilgrim Board brought about the large number of pilgrims.
The Commissioner explained that on hajj matters, Lagos State had been a role model to other states in the federation and that the state could nott afford to fail in any of its operations.
The Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Kamal Sanusi, assured the pilgrims that all necessary measures had been put in place for this year’s Lesser Hajj.
