Nestle plc, New Gold gain most as market resumes
Nestle Nigeria Plc, one of the highest priced stocks on Nigeria’s bourse packed on additional N11.03 weight today as the price rose to N511.03.
The stock rise was one of the high points of transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) today after the Eid-el-Fitri vacation..
With 410.72 million shares worth N3.9 billion in 3,623 deals traded today, the All-share Index appreciated by 57.94 points or 0.25 per cent to close at 23,199.02 against 23,141.08 recorded on Friday. On Friday, 143.79 million shares worth N1.4 billion were exchanged in 3,421 deals. on Friday.
Also market capitalisation, which opened at N7.365 trillion, grew by N19 billion or 0.25 per cent to close at N7.384 trillion.
NewGold led the gainers’ chart with N93 to close at N2,521 per unit.
Nestle followed with a gain of N11.03 per share to close at N511.03 per share while Guniness appreciated by N2.81 to close at N245.01 per share.
CAP grew by N1.26 to close at N26.58 per share, while Cadbury gained 45k to close N17.19 per share.
Arbico recorded the highest price loss of 70k to close at N13.39 per share.
Nigerian Ropes trailed with 41k to close at N7.85 per share, while Cement Company Northern Nigeria lost 20k to close at N4.10 per share.
Dangote Flour depreciated by 15k to close at N6.25, while Pharmdecko lost 15k to close N3.02 per share.
