Bua Cup: Talent Hunt In Bright Start

Talent Hunt Football Academy recorded 1-0 victory over their opponents, Joker FC in the opening match of the U-15 Bua Football competition.

Chika Okon fired a shot in the second half to seal victory for the winners. The opening game was played at the  Government College, Osborne Way, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Okon. who was adjudged as match hero, boasted that he will continue to score for his team in the subsequent matches.

“I am happy that I scored a crucial goal, which gave us three points in our group. It’s a good start for us and I pray we end it well,” said Okon who  vowed to win  the highest goal scorer’s award of the tournament.

Reacting to the team’s victory, Talent Hunt Coach, Emmanuel Odoemelem hailed his players for their doggedness and charged them to remain focused in their next match.

Commenting on his team’s chances in the tourney, Odoemelem said it is too early to dream about the trophy, noting that his team still have a lot to do if they want to win the competition.

“We want to take the match one after the other. We can begin to talk of the trophy thereafter.

In other results, Samadek FC played 3-3 with Casket FC. Action continues tomorrow when FC Robo face Dynamic FC while Island FC confront Bright FC on Saturday.
