Expect Good Football On Sunday, Lobi’s Abutu Tells Lagos Fans

Basking in the euphoria of his team qualifying for the final of the 2012 Federation Cup, Lobi Stars’ Jonah Abutu has declared that football fans in Lagos should expect good football from his side in the final on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The Markudi, Benue State-based team booked their place in the final of the Federation Cup, when they defeated Kano Pillars 5-4 through penalty shootout after a goalless draw at full time in Wednesday’s semi final in Calabar.

Abutu, who was excited over the victory, said the team now have their sight on the trophy, having won the competition at the expense of Sharks of Port Harcourt in 2003. He noted that Lobi Stars will shine over Heartland of Owerri in Sunday’s final.

“Our target for a continental ticket is still on course with this victory. The players are in happy mood and are looking forward to showcasing our brand of football to Lagos fans come Sunday,” Abutu said.
