Final’ll Be Memorable —Oshodi
Lagos State Sports Commissioner, Wahid Enitan Oshodi has said that the host plans a memorable Federation Cup final on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Apart from the mobilisation of about 5,000 secondary schools student to the stadium, the government in conjunction with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF plans side attractions for the fans to enjoy the epic final.
“I think the most important thing this year is that His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Fashola has advised that we have to get the passion of yesteryears back and this we can do through making sure that there is awareness of the tournament, the history and what made it such a great tournament that brings all Nigerians together,” the Commissioner said.
“Don’t forget that Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola donated a new befitting trophy to symbolise the importance of this competition to the country. This is the most important national knockout tournament in Africa and we need to bring the glamour back and that is what we have been trying to do.
“On Sunday, it will be a spectacular final, fans will enjoy good football artistry from the two finalists,” he said.
Meanwhile, organisers have said that tickets for the final will be on sale tomorrow at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, adding that fans hoping to make it to the 23,000 capacity stadium are to get the tickets for the third place and final matches.
