Liberia FA Boss To Nigeria: Forget Nations Cup Ticket

President of Liberia Football Association, LFA, Musa Bility has told the Super Eagles of Nigeria to forget their dream of playing in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations slated for South Africa.

The Lone Star of Liberia and the Super Eagles will battle for the lone ticket on offer when they clash in a two-legged Nations Cup qualifiers on 8 September and 13 October.

With about 11 days to the first leg, the Liberian FA boss is boasting that his team are poised to deny the Eagles a chance of playing in the African championship at all cost.

Speaking on a live radio programme from Monrovia early today, Bility said the Liberians are aware of Nigeria’s pedigree in Africa, and are battle ready to contest for the only ticket.

“We are fully prepared for the Super Eagles because we started preparation for the task the moment we were drawn against Nigeria in the final round of the qualifiers. “We know that Nigeria have very good professional players than our country, but we’re not scared. I think Nigeria should forget about going to South Africa because we will qualify ahead of them,” boasted Bility on brilafm.

He continued: “We know the Super Eagles are giants in African football, but I’m sorry for Nigeria because they will have to face us at this time when we also want to qualify for the Nations Cup. This will be very difficult because our team want to play in the Nations Cup as well. With all the incentives our government has given to the team, it is a must for us to qualify for the competition and our players are good and are determined to beat Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, the Eagles went ahead with their training sessions amidst heavy downpour, as the Federal Capital Territory, FCT in Abuja is currently witnessing daily rainfall since last weekend.

Speaking from the FIFA Goal Project, venue of Eagles’ training in Abuja early today, Media Officer of the team, Ben Alaiya said: “As I speak with you, the players are training I can see some of them drinking water despite training under the rain, who knows it may rain on match day.”
