Chevrolet’s new global multi-purpose vehicle, the all-new Spin, made its debut in Brazil last week.

Designed and developed at General Motors’ (GM) research and development centre in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the vehicle will eventually be built in both left-hand and right-hand drive derivatives for markets around the world in an effort to provide motorists with an affordable, no-frills, vehicle to transport family or friends or very large pets.

The new Spin boasts Chevrolet’s new split grille design together with narrow headlights that are said to reinforce its unique personality and value offering. Furthermore, its body has been designed to maximise aerodynamics and will be made available in eight exterior colours with some cool names like Summit White, Global Black, Desert Beige, Macaw Blue and Lotus Green.

With a wheelbase of 2620mm it is also said to provide ample space for up to five passengers in the two-row LT version and up to seven passengers in the three-row LTZ version. With its rear seats folded flat it will carry up to 1668 litres of luggage too.

On the inside GM has gone for a premium approach to the Spin’s design and architecture, offering a two-ton instrument panel and a silver finish with chrome accents on the door knobs, the steering wheel, radio and air-conditioning controls, the gear shift, the parking brake and air vent surrounds.
