Nigerians Rule The Nottinghill Carnival

It was a sight to behold as the Nigerian Green and White colours dotted the streets of London as this year’s edition of the prestigious annual Nottinghill Carnival took place on Monday,  during UK’s Bank Holiday

And one place that had the largest concentration of revellers was the ‘Naija Corner’ at Golbourne Road, W10 (intersection of Golbourne Gardens and Hazlewood Crescent) opposite Trelick Tower, where many Nigerians and their friends in different Green and white apparels and flags converged  to do Nigeria proud during the carnival tagged Europe’s largest street party.

With hundreds of Metropolitan Police on the watch, maintaining order and serving as cover for many  around the Golbourne Gardens and Ladbroke Grove, it was a fun filled  day. The festivities peaked with top Nigerian music acts and comedians including Gbenga Adeyinka, Julius Agwu, Kay Switch, Mr. Solek and Princess entertaining many festival-goers.

CEO, Sodium Brand Solutions and executive producer of the “Naija Corner”, Abisoye Fagade, described the atmosphere as that of “100 percent entertainment at the authentic Nigerian corner”.

“It’s the Olympics year and a special one at the Nottinghill Carnival, Nigerians proudly join the rest of the world in the spirit of friendship and joy, as we fly the green-white-green high and show the world our culture and values, using our rich music, comedy, fashion and arts,” Fagade said.

Now in its fourth year, the “Naija Corner” is organised by Reve Entertainment and Sodium Brand Solutions, with support from BlackHouse Media Group, Hip TV and NET with past performers including eLDee, Banky W, 9ice, Funke Akindele and many more.
