Joy Petroleum: Directors Dismiss Petition Against Saraki

Mrs. Preye Obahor, wife of Matthew Obahor, deceased aide of Senator Bukola Saraki, has dissociated herself and other directors of Joy Petroleum Limited from a petition written against the senator.

In a press statement on behalf of Joy Petroleum Ltd. she said she did not authorise the orchestrated campaign of calumny and blackmail against Senator Saraki.

According to her, “My attention has been drawn to various media publications concerning Joy Petroleum Ltd., a company jointly incorporated by my late husband, Matthew Obahor, and myself as it relates to Dr. Bukola Saraki, former Executive Governor of Kwara State, who was my late husband’s boss and benefactor.

“I wish to put it on record that I and other directors of the company did not authorise nor sanction the orchestrated campaign of calumny and blackmail by Mr. Paul Obahor purportedly on behalf of Joy Petroleum Ltd. Please note that the company has no complaints or grievances whatsoever against Dr. Bukola Saraki or any of his affiliated companies.

“I remain immensely appreciative of Dr. Bukola Saraki’s support and assistance rendered to my late husband, Matthew Obahor, and his continuous care for my daughter, Uzezi Obahor.”

Speaking on the development, Senator Saraki’s media aide, Akintoba Fatigun, told P.M.NEWS that  “Mrs. Obahor’s press release confirms what we have been saying all along that Paul was a tool being used since he was not a true director of Joy Petroleum Ltd. Even his petition lacks merit.”

Paul Obahor had petitioned the police alleging that Senator Saraki directly benefited from a N21 billion bank loan fraud and that the N21 billion belonged to Joy Petroleum Ltd.

This followed the purported inability of Joy Petroleum to have access to their account at Intercontinental Bank.

It was alleged that this happened when Preye’s husband who was the managing director, was incapacitated and even after his death, although the deceased was the sole signatory.
