VC appointed for North-West University

Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano State, has appointed Malaysian Professor Dato Mohd. Razali Bin Agus as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the newly-established North-West University, Kano.

Professor Bin Agus, 57, was until his appointment, the Vice Chancellor of Twin-Tech International College of Technology, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations to the Governor, Malam Halilu Dantiye issued in Kano on Saturday.

According to the statement, the governor had also approved the appointment of Faruk ‘Yanganau and Sanusi Nassarawa as Registrar and Librarian respectively, while Yusuf Isa was to serve as the University Bursar.

The statement charged the new appointees to be steadfast in nurturing the university into an enviable model in Nigeria and beyond.

‘’Although the task of managing a new university is a challenging responsibility, we are confident that the officers will live up to expectation, taking into consideration their antecedents,’’ it said.

The statement thanked the chairman and members of the university implementation committee for their effort to ensure that the institution commenced academic activities on a sound footing.

The North-West University is expected to commence academic activities before the end of this month. (NAN)
