The large turnout of kids for the 13th Olumide Oyedeji basketball clinic at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos has impressed the organisers of the annual tourney.
While speaking with P.M. News at the venue of the clinic yesterday, captain of Nigeria’s male basketball team, D’Tigers, who is the chief organiser of the annual tourney packaged for kids between ages 4-18, Olumide Oyedeji said: “I am really impressed with the number of kids who turned out for this year’s clinic. I must confess, it has been unprecedented.”
Commenting on why there have been an increased number of talented kids for the clinic, the former NBA player said: “I think the qualification of the national team for the recently concluded 2012 Olympic Games really inspired many parents and guardians, who allowed their kids to take part in the sport.”
