Paralympics: Tunisia Overtake Nigeria

Team Tunisia have overtaken Nigeria on the medals table at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, which ends this weekend.

As at the time of going to press, Tunisia are leading African countries as number one at the Games, occupying the 17th position overall with 6 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals, while Nigeria are second in Africa and 18th in the world with 6 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medal. Team South Africa are  20th with 5 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Nigerian government is planning to handsomely reward all the athletes that made the country proud at the Paralympic Games. It was gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan is considering rewarding them with the sum of N1m and a three-bedroom flat in Abuja to each gold medalist, while silver medalist will receive a two-bedroom flat each, and bronze medalist to get a bedroom apartment.
